“ASleep” - PSNZ Gold Medal

Titled “Asleep”, this image gained The Shirley Peverill Award and Gold Medal for Photojournalism at The Photographic Society of New Zealand’ National Exhibition of Photography. It is one of eleven National Titles and Gold Medals Simon Woolf has achieved at NATEX. Over the years a number of other Woolf Photography Photographers have achieved National Titles and /or major awards.

“Asleep” was taken while on a commercial website assignment at The Wellington Club. The subject Dave Smith, saw Simon Woolf, camera in hand, coming down a corridor. As a bit of fun, he immediately pretended to be “Asleep” and Simon was quick enough to catch the moment!

“Hadleigh” - Kodak Gold Award

“Lily” - Kodak Gold Award

Lily came to Woolf Photography even before she was born! We have a Bump to Baby Package, which has been hugely popular which involves three sessions , Bump , New Born, Baby Photos. Lily’s Mum liked the idea so much that she extended the time so that Lily ( and her other children) had photos every year until they were five. Each child then had an album produced of their first five year from their being a bump!

This photo of Lily won a Kodak Gold Award.

The royals

In 2013 The Woolf Photography Team were assigned the honour of travelling with Their Royal Highness’s The Cambridge Family on their 10 Day State Visit to New Zealand. During that visit there were a number of key moments which Simon Woolf and the team captured. None was more important than on Day Two when Simon captured a very contemporary family photo, which Princess Kate was quoted as saying it was one her favourite moments of the tour! The Cambridge Family Photograph, was the first family photo where Prince George engaged with a camera. “That Photo” consequently went viral, gaining billions of social media hits, and receiving world wide attention. “That Photo” was also viewed on 43 major media front or home page publications!
